Travel Hockey 8U-18U
Program Overview
The WP Plainsmen is a co-ed travel team program with close to 200 players, 13 teams (8U – 18U), and typically multiple competitive levels of play at each age bracket.
Coaches are highly committed to developing our players, at the same time, ensuring our players enjoy the game of hockey.
For the 2026-2027 Season WP Plainsmen will be fielding TB, AA, A, A1, B, and B1 teams across different age levels.
2026-2027 Tryout Information

8U-12U
March 16th & 18th
8U - 5:15PM
10U - 6:30PM
12U - 7:45PM
Each session is 1 hour at the same time each date.
14U-18U
April 6th & 7th
14U - 5:30PM
16U - 6:45PM
18U - 8:00PM
Each session is 1 hour at the same time each date.
TRYOUT Details
- Fee per player $85.
- Tryout for the age level your player will be in the fall of 2026.
- We anticipate having tournament bound teams at the 16U/18U levels. Other teams will be determined based on the skills of the players comprising the teams.
- Arrive 30-40 minutes early to sign in and get dressed.
- Participate on both days.
- Full equipment required.
- Complete the registration form on Crossbar AND submit payment to the White Plains Recreation and Parks Department (link to pay will be emailed to you after registration).

Fees
Full 2026 - 2027 season fees will be communicated no later than the time of an offer being extended for a place on a team.
GAMES
Teams can expect, on average, two games per weekend (typically one home and one away).
Full Season
- Approximately 20 home and 20 away games (including tournaments)
Split Season (available at 16U and 18U only)
- Approximately 12 home and 12 away games (including tournaments)
WHEN

PRACTICES
Teams practice 2x per week. Practice schedule to be announced after team placements.
JERSEYS
Game uniforms are ordered through Pure Hockey. The online store link will be shared after tryouts are completed. Practice jerseys are ordered by the Plainsmen Hockey Club.
Once team selections are finalized, additional details regarding game and practice jerseys—including assigned numbers—will be provided.
TOURNAMENTS
Teams will typically participate in two tournaments per season (local or travel), with most events located approximately 2–5 hours from our home area. Tournament selections are proposed by the team’s coaches, manager and tournament director based on team needs.
Families are responsible for any related travel expenses, including lodging, transportation, and meals.
